INTRODUCTION
This year I had the great honor of being selected to serve as Artist-in-Residence at the Badlands National Park, South Dakota USA. I spent the 6-week residency photographing throughout the park and seeking to capture visually the essence of this important place in American history. I also spent time advising visitors on photography in the park and giving talks at local schools about fine art photography and the residency experience. I also maintained a blog where I posted daily photos and journal about my experiences. Click here to visit that blog.

This was my second Artist-in-Residence appointment in 2009 with the National Park Service. In May I served as Artist-in-Residence at the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. Click here to view some of the images taken during that residency.
